Sy Thomas is an actor, writer, and stand-up comedian.

 

In 2025, Sy makes his feature film debut in Jim Owen’s big screen British comedy Hostages. He has also starred in lead roles in the acclaimed short films Kitty, The Turnaround, and Teach. Sy’s debut short Breakdown - co-written, produced, and performed alongside Oliver Britten, and directed by Dominic O’Riordan—was selected for 17 international film festivals. It received 10 award nominations and won 3, with Sy earning a 'Best Actor' nomination at UVFF for his performance.

 

Sy’s comedic acting talents have been honed through years on the stand-up circuit, and have been showcased in a variety of roles including The Revolting World of Stanley Brown (BBC), 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown (C4), and in a multitude of multi-million viewed online films.

 

He is perhaps most famously remembered for his iconic (and haunting) role as ‘Daisy the Cow’ (Back End) in the 2012 CBeebies Pantomime.
